Professional journalist and independent photographer, since 2011 he has been documenting humanitarian conflicts and crises. He followed the ISAF mission in Afghanistan, the tensions between Serbs and Albanians in Kosovo, the inter-religious clashes in the Central African Republic.

He has made reportages in Israel, Tunisia and since 2015 he has been following the war in Donbas, the Ukrainian region occupied by Russia. In 2016, after documenting the 4 Day War in Nagorno Karabakh, he was declared persona non grata by Azerbaijan. In the fall of 2020, he returned to the Republic of Artsakh - as the country was renamed in 2017 - during the initial stages of the 44-day War. Author of exhibitions and publications, his services have been mainly published by "La Stampa", the newspaper for which he has been working since 1989.

I participated in the Fujifilm X Vision Tour 2017 with the photo exhibition Nagorno-Karabakh: the peace can wait displayed in Milan, Bologna, Palermo, Bari and Rome.

In 2018 I created Arma il prossimo tuo, a photographic research to investigate the relationship between religions and conflicts in the world: the exhibition - organized with my colleague Paolo Siccardi and the support of Fujifilm Italia - was exhibited at the National Museum of the Risorgimento in Turin and the Lodi Festival of Ethical Photography.

In 2019 I made the photo exhibition Twelve shots from Donbass hosted in Rome at the Numen Concept Space.

The same year I exhibited Donbass, Ukraine: the border of truth at the Palazzo delle Arti in Naples and at the Palazzo dei Leoni, Messina.

In 2021, his images taken in Nagorno Karabakh during the 44 Days War were exhibited in Brussel (Belgium) in the exhibition Nagorno-Karabakh: scene of a disregarded war.

In 2016 I received a medal from the President of Nagorno-Karabakh for the photographic reports made on the ongoing conflict in the Caucasian de-facto Republic.

In 2019 I received a medal from the City of Kyiv for documenting the ongoing war in Donbas, Ukraine.

I won the TIPA Gold Award - category: Publishing / Conflict - at the Tokyo International Foto Award 2018.

In 2019 I won an Honorable Mention at the International Photography Awards, category: Press, World/Conflict.
